11:31pm: Oh Dear, Countrymouse!
I'm so sorry I have avoided my LJ! I set a filter on my hotmail account where I have the "notify" going if someone posts, and it started filtering my LJ notices. :(

Anyhow.

Things are going nicely in Solace. It got very busy for a while, and then when the Nookingtons came in, things started to slow down. I still haven't paid off the new house expansion. I'm fairly close, but just unmotivated.

Right now I am proudest of my collection of figurines. I have.. 5? or 6. I can't remember how many, because I have a bunch. I have gotten somewhat tired of the look of my house and I think I will soon be switching to something more halloweenie, or just weird.

Gabi and I .. well.

Ok, well Gabi came back. I begged her and begged her, and eventually she came back... She even moved a little closer to me, not to her old place down by the waterfall. Blaire came with her. (Can you believe this? she actually moved out and then moved BACK IN). Everyone is getting along again.

But something is gone. Yes, Gabi and I have grown apart. Freya comes to visit me every once in a while. She tries to flirt a little, but I think it's mostly out of pity.

I am broken and lost!

Someone new moved in a short while ago- a nice pink squirrel named peanut. She's really spunky.

"Snap out of it, Pengo!" she told me.

I guess I should.

3:51am: The sad, sad tale of my town.
It was Blaire, I learned later.

the sad, sad, tale of love, loss, and revenge... )

24th September 2002

3:59am: Well, it's nice to have Bill around
Solace is turning into a bit of a Peyton Place.

I showed up this afternoon to watch the fall sports festival. Unfortunately, I was late and only got to see the tug-of-war. Aww! Kiki and Aurora were pulling against the all-rabbit-team of Genji and Gabi.

They seemed to be pulling for hours, so I ducked off to go make my first visit to Starfish Island. Kapp'n picked me up at the dock and took me over.. I've already forgotten the name of the islander- I think her name is June. She mentioned that she loved my Big Bro's shirt (it has a Mario insignia on it) so I gave it to her. She seemed nice.

Back in town later I happened across Pango and Tom.. and I saw some very odd developments between them. I tried to stay hidden at first to observe. First Pango gave Tom a red and yellow checkered shirt- the smae pattern she was wearing. At first Tom tried it on, then took it back off and gave it back. they argued. They made up. They started to .. sing with each other? Then Pango gave him back the shirt and he put it on. He was still wearing it later, and they were openly affectionate with each other.
Pango and Tom seem to be an item!

If you look, you'll notice that they are both blue in color, and they are very close neighbors. I guess it was meant to be. Good luck to them.

Seriously, I'm not jealous. (I have Gabi). Hopefully this will make Pango stop stealing my stuff and Tom will learn to decorate his house better.

A little later I noticed a new neighbor had moved in next to Derwin. It was a dog- a tough dog, and I have to say- he's even tougher than Tom was. I decided to stop tolerating Tom and his crap since the new guy showed up. His name is Butch and he is "very good at taking care of problems. If you know what I mean".

Yikes. I don't have a picture of Butch yet. He's actually pretty nice, though. He's not as rude as Tom and acts more straightforward. I decided to mess with Tom a little by sending him a letter that said my new friend Butch could kick his ass. Butch also likes jazz fuzion and has a very modern looking house.

Finally I hung out with Bill for a while today. Bill did me a favor and repainted my roof back to it's original color (light green). We chatted about various things- lately Bill has been talking about moving again, but he's not as whiny as he used to be. I hope that whatever he decides, he'll be happy.

22nd September 2002

11:46pm: Sunday, oh Sunday.
The first peach tree came in today. I planted two more from the fruit of the first one, and sold the third to Nook to check the price. 500 bells! Very nice. I should plant a whole grove. I have the area behind Bill's place picked out for a cherry grove already, and I want the peaches near my house.

Speaking of which, that Tom painted my roof black! Well, he may have done it by mistake, I can't figure out Tom half the time. It looks good, though, and I don't mind. Tom definitely thought it was funny.

I think he thought it was a little too funny, actually.

Kiki and Aurora had some kind of fight today. I didn't get any details. One minute they were talking together in the ivy-patch between their two houses while I was hunting dragonflies and the next second, Aurora was running away with a black cloud over her head, and Kiki was really angry. I tried to get Kiki to tell me what was up but she told me to buzz off. Thats not like her at all! Aurora just wanted to change the subject.

So I'm not sure how the girls are, right now.

I was crossing over to visit Gabi on the footbridge when I ran into another new resident- a very cool rabbit named Genji.

Genji wears a kabuki outfit and full makeup (which looks somewhat like a dress) and has the second best house in town if I may say- it's a perfect zen garden with a wooden rake, stone lantern. Very nice house. He calls me "Otaku", which kind of cracks me up. This picture of Genji looks somewhat pensive, but Genji is especially friendly.

And in really odd news...

Freya has been very friendly to me lately! I know I've mentioned this before, but she's warmed to me even more. I went on a few errands for her and hasn't even been a little rude to me.

But I still love Gabi of course.

I also managed to pay the renovation off. Nook offered to build me a basement, and I jumped at the idea. A basement! Thats just what I need!
1:26am: Oh, a new resident!
A new resident moved in, just south of Kiki and Aurora. It's a girl skunk named Blaire.

This isn't the greatest picture of her, but it's her, all right. Anyhow, she's not that great of a neighbor. I mean- I lived in Solace before she showed up and she's totally rude to me. I ran a few errands for her, and I tried- I made an effort to be friendly. Nothing.

On the other hand...

Freya and I have become really good friends somehow! I don't know why- we both stay up late, and the other night, Freya, Pango, Tom and I were hanging around by the fountain. I had just finished a new clothing texture (a 'metal robot' look with exposed rivets and plates) and I was killing some time collecting fish in the last hour before Tom closed up shop. Somehow I just got into kind of a nice chat with Freya and she was really sweet to me. I ran an errand for her as sort fo a test and she was very nice about it.
12:46am: Well, went to see the harvest moon...
It was pretty. I saw it reflected down in the pond, and it looked nice. Not all the residents were down there.

Tortimer was there and he gave me a gigantic moon replica.

...

Ok, well I sold the moon replica. I took it home and set it up in the living room first, but it was huge! So I went ahead and sold it. It may have been a one-of-a-kind item, but I didn't see any other use for it. (It does appear in my catalog down at the store, but I forgot to check if I could order it back.)

Gabi was there with Kiki. I tried to make some friendly conversation, but Kiki didn't want to chat at all! "I'm here trying to enjoy the moon with Gabi!" she said. Gabi, however, didn't mind chatting. She made a comment to me about agreeing with her that the moon was beautiful but not as beautiful as she was. Gabi is cute. I think she was definitely flirting with me.

Pango stole another item from me! I guess thievery seems to be just something she enjoys doing. She made good on it though by trading me a great palace floor. All in all, I think I came out ahead in the deal. All I gave her was one of my old 20 bell orange boxes.

Bill was down there too, and so was Derwin. Derwin made some kind of bizarre comment about the moon being full of marshmallows. Bill was saying something weird as well, but I can't remember what.

I'm so disappointed I missed K.K. Slider!

20th September 2002

7:49pm: Welcome to Solace!
My name is Pengo, my village is called Solace.

These are my peeps!

Kiki is really cute and sweet. She enjoys country music and chatting. I think she was interested in me romantically, until her new neighbor Aurora moved in.

This is Aurora. Aurora and Kiki are great friends. She collects clocks and her favorite tape is K.K. Love Song, which is cool. I also have K.K. Love Song. Anyhow, ever since Aurora moved in, Kiki doesn't have time for me anymore, but she's still very sweet and never rude, so I don't mind a bit. Aurora also likes the rain, which is nice.

This is Gabi. Gabi is awesome. I think Gabi and I are pretty much best friends--I think she wants to be my girlfriend. Gabi lives down by the waterfall and we talk about all kinds of stuff.

Pango is new. I like her, and she is pretty nice, but she totally stole my Mannekin Pis statue! Well, I probably would have sold it off anyhow, but that was annoying because I had just gotten it from Gulliver the Seagull, so it was kind of special.

This is Freya. I hate her! She's really rude and kind of a bully. If she were a boy I'd teach her a lesson.

Tom is cool. He's kind of gruff, but thats just his way. anyhow, he isn't a total jerk like Freya is. I'd rather hang out with Tom any day.

Here's Bill. Bill is an athlete. He says he has intense eyes "which you need if you want to play soccer". He's actually kind of full of himself, but in a laughable way. He was going on and on about moving out of Solace and I finally just said "Go ahead!" and he shut up about it. He said I was being harsh.

This is Derwin. He's actually my closest neighbor and he's pretty nice. He's kind of a nerd, though. Like in his house he collects bugs and fossils, and he gets very concerned how others feel about him. Anyhow, he's very nice, and he's not conceited like Bill so I hang out with Derwin quite a lot.
1:57pm: Well, I met Gracie
And I hate her! She made me wash her car. Twice! And the only thing I got for it was a bad plaid outfit, because she said I didn't do a good enough job.

Oh well... I guess I wouldn't mind having a real Gracie outfit one day.

I like all of my neighbors, pretty much. I've got Kiki, Aurora, Gabi, Pango, Freya, Bill, Tom, and Derwin living in my town.

Kiki and Aurora are really cute and live next door to each other. I kinda think Kiki likes me, or I used to, but she hasn't been too interested in me since Aurora moved in. Theyr'e both really friendly, though. Kiki is a cat who likes country music and is really.. dainty. Aurora is just as dainty and cute and she's a penguin. Aurora collects clocks and has a very mod-looking house. Kiki has a very homey-looking place.

Gabi is a rabbit that lives by the waterfall. I wasn't sure about her at first- she started out kind of rude. But the other night I walked by and she said she felt lonely living all by herself. I wrote her a letter and sent her a present. I can't remember what I sent- probably just a seashell I picked up. Anyhow, it seemed to really make her very happy. She even wrote me back! Anyhow, Gabi and I have become really good friends, and I usually visit her every chance I get. Gabi agrees with me about Gracie being overrated. She says that Gracie dissed her outfit.

So anyhow- Kiki and Aurora are like the two cute girls I always imagine ending up with, but Gabi is the quirky lonely girl I ended up with.

Freya, on the other hand, is really rude! I was totally interested in being friends with her- she was the most exotic animal living in my town when I first got here- she was a fox. Kiki and Tom were cats and Bill and Derwin were both ducks, but I thought- hey, a fox! With an exotic name, even. Well anyhow. She's very rude. I gave up trying to be nice to her the other night, and that seems to have made her less rude, somehow. She tried to trick me into giving her a sea-bass last night and I blew her off. Get your own sea bass, Freya!

Tom is kinda rude, too, but more in a tough guy kind of way, which doesn't bother me at all. We aren't great friends or anything, but it's kind of fun to hang out with him anyway. Anyway, he's not a total jerk like Freya, just sort of gruff. He thinks that Gracie is overrated too. Well, that makes three of us.

Pango is something of a mystery. She's a bright blue pangolin and she just moved in yesterday, right next to Tom. I *like* her, and she isn't that snooty at all, but there was a very disturbing episode I will go into later where she stole something of mine. She has the most beautiful house in the neighborhood, and I think she is definitely the best designer. I'm willing to forgive the theft, I guess, if I can get to know her better.

Finally there's Derwin and Bill, the ducks. Derwin is kind of a nerd. He wears glasses and collects bugs and fossils. He's actually my closest neighbor and we hang out every once in a while. Derwin is pretty cool.

Bill on the other hand is a little odd. He's an athlete and he's friendly enough. But for a while he was just going around talking about leaving town. He would go on and on and on! And I was always like "Oh no, Bill you should stay!" Two days later, he's still talking about leaving. Finally I just lost my temper and told him PLEASE! LEAVE! Go right ahead! He took it ok, although he said I was being harsh. Anyhow, as of this morning, he seems to have forgotten all about leaving. Go figure.

19th September 2002

5:49pm: Day three!
I haven't updated much, but I've had an eventful couple of days.
First off, I arived in Solace just the other day. I met a friendly dog on the train (I believe it was a dog, anyhow, he looked somewhat like a cat) named Rover who hooked me up with a good friend of his, Tom Nook.

Tom helped me out with a place to live- he only charged 19800 bells for a home. First I had to work for him in the store for a while, but really, I found out that I could easily pay his debt off much quicker by ducing out to the seashore to collect shells. I also turned in a lot of fruit that I found in various places.

I'm kind of sad about that, because I haven't seen a piece of fruit since, and it has been three days! I managed to beg a peach and (later) a pear off of some neighbors and I made sure to plant all of them near my house.

So anyhow- it's day three. I've paid the shack off, and had it remodelled to be larger. Tom is remodeling his own shop, so I can't go in and sell fish or seashells right now. :(

This morning I was happy to get alll of my fossils back from the Farway museum, though! I sent them an Apato tail, a trilobyte and a dinosaur egg. The Solace branch was happy to accept all of them. I've already sent off three or four more fossils by now. I hope they get evaluated soon.

I still owe Tom a bunch of bells for the remodeling. I think I'e already paid off about a third of it, but I hate being in debt.

5:54am: Oh dear.
I have heard a terrible rumor that the village I am going to can only have an eight-letter name. hmm.

I will update more after I arrive.

My father used to say "the less you know about where you are going, the sooner you will get there."

He was fairly zen, in his own way.
2:51am: Another nice song I mustn't forget.
I have penned down a nice song to put in the town tunes bulletin board. It sounds very nice on my dolphin ocarina.

It goes a bit like this

D E D C B G - C
D E D C B - B C

The melody maker is located over here, somewhere if you'd like to listen to it. I think I may have cheated a bit on the time signature.
2:38am: Hi everyone!
I've just joined up and I've pre-ordered the game. I'm ging to pick it up tomorrow. It's quite exciting! I've created this account so that I can start an 'in-character' journal as my Animal-Crossing persona.

My name is Pengo
My town name will be called Goblinvale

Hope to be trading with you guys later.
Current Mood: excited
Current Music: G A B C B A B - G A B C F E D Gh
2:19am: First Post!
Well, it is quite exciting. Tomorrow I will set off to begin my new life in the village of .. what is that village anyway? I think it's called Goblin Vale. I'll be taking the train tomorrow.. or today, actually! Is it the 17th already? I suppose I will be leaving soon.
